How can I go to Surigao City?

Easy, if you are coming from Manila, airplane is the most appropriate than boat for me. Why, because Surigao City is just an hour by plane while taking the boat it will take more than one day.  If you are coming from Cebu there is a boat with a daily trip except Sunday night at pier 1. The boat (Cokaliong) leaves at seven in the evening for Surigao city. Then going back to Cebu is also the same time 7pm daily except for Monday night. Other boat (Cebu Ferries) is sailing MWF Surigao  to Cebu 11pm.

Pebbled beach

I rarely see a pebbled beach.  Why Mabua fascinates me is that it is rare.  At first it may look as though it is just fill up. But when you walk to not above the waters you can feel pebbles as you go and dip. You are not feeling powder sands with your feet but huge granules of sand.

Pebbles of Mabua

http://gertmindanao.blogspot.com

Mabua is a community of Surigao City.  It is famous for it's pebbled beaches. The way to Mabua is the same way to Lipata wharf but you have to make a left turn from the main road,  because right turn is going to Lipata port.   It is just a few minutes away from the city proper. But do not expect to find fabulous beach houses nor fine dining.  It is a very simple place.  The beach stretched is less than a kilometer.  There are clusters of long tables with nipa shed. Of course it's for rent.  There is building nearby that can accommodate guests and also a function room for meetings and conferences.

Surigao City is not difficult to reach.  If you are coming from Manila you can take a plane or a boat.  But plane is better because it's just an hour.  If you are coming from Cebu an airplane will do or a boat. Routes are daily in Pier 1 or Pier 4. Me, I take the 7pm Cebu to Surigao, it's a daily trip except Sunday night.

I'm not a travel agency

No, don't get me wrong, friends, I am not shifting my career into a travel agency I just want to share my great experience.  I know there are still people out there who wants to travel within the Philippines but do not know yet where to start off or they just want to experience a different way of traveling without the help from any travel agency, or just the fun of it.

Sharing places with you!

Consider me blessed.  I have been traveling in some fascinating places around the Philippines for years and believe me most of my travels were for free! Why? Because of the nature of my job. And because of this I am sharing the places I have been to and how to get there if ever you are interested. So travel with me!
